The spectacular wildlife riches of Corcovado are still accessible to you if hiking long distances is not to your liking. This fly in, fly out adventure gives us two days to explore the remote area around Sirena Biological Station, in the heart of Corcovado. We fly in early on the first day and fly out in the late afternoon on the second day, spending one night in the Station. We explore this spectacular area – the subject of many wildlife documentaries – on foot and by canoe, by day and by night, and swim in the clear pools of its rivers.

But, before entering the wilds of Corcovado, we begin our adventures gently from the charming Iguana Lodge. Playa Platanares, which fronts the lodge, is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Osa, and offers you the chance to swim and relax. Tomorrow we begin our adventures with a cruise of the Golf Dulce. This gulf is home to rich marine life that includes humback whale, dolphins and spectacular whale sharks!

Having explored the rugged beauty of Corcovado, we fly out from Sirena, along the southern coast of the Osa Peninsula and make our way to the enchanting jungle lodge of El Remanso, our base for the next two days and nights. This lodge, set among lush rainforest in its own private reserve, is the manifestation of a dream by its owners, Joel and Belen. Both are active conservationists (Joel captains the Green Peace ship, “Rainbow Warrior”) and cofounders of “The Cecropia Foundation”, which endeavors to preserve the Osa’s natural treasures. In addition to providing superb lodging, Joel and Belen will affect you with their passion for rainforests. If you feel up to it, Joel can take you tree climbing, up into canopy of a forest giant! Or perhaps you would prefer to rappel down a waterfall, or go on a zip-line to a tree platform.
